Shrekfest Humboldt Park Milwaukee Wisconsin

Shrekfest is the ultimate celebration of love, laughter, and everyone’s favorite green ogre. Held annually by 3GI Industries, this free, all-ages event takes place at Humboldt Park.

With games, electrifying live music, and a “Shrek” movie screening, Shrekfest promises an unforgettable experience for all. There are contests for costumes, roaring and onion eating, plus various art and food vendors.

Third Ward Art Festival Milwaukee Wisconsin

Free and open to the public, the 11th Annual Third Ward Art Festival showcases the work of juried artists from around the country in a variety of mediums (ceramics, fiber, glass jewelry, sculpture, mixed media, paintings, drawings, photography, and more).

The festival features an interactive kid’s art tent, face painting, live music on two stages, and great food and drink options from neighboring restaurants and festival food vendors. The Historic Third Ward Association will also be selling beer and seltzer.

There’s plenty of parking nearby, and the show is wheelchair- and stroller-accessible.

Summer Night Movies in Veterans Park Milwaukee Wisconsin

This Sunday in Veterans Park, Gift of Wings and Milwaukee County Parks will host their final outdoor movie of the summer – “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” (PG).

Bring your blankets and lawn chairs to this free event. The movie starts at dusk, and Gift of Wings will be on hand selling food, soda, water, ice cream and popcorn (only $1).

Milwaukee’s Original Oktoberfest kicks off this weekend, and it’s celebrating more than 60 years at Heidelberg Park on the Bavarian Bierhaus grounds.

Food options include traditional favorites like Usingers sausage, Bavarian pretzels, Doner Kebap, and Schnitzel, as well as kids’ and vegetarian meals, Friday night fish fry and more.

Gates open at 4 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Money-saving tips: Enjoy free admission on Sunday, or receive $5 off general admission wristbands when you download the Bavarian Bierhaus App and show the app at the front gate.
