Maple tree tapping for families Wehr Nature Center Franklin Wisconsin

Nothing beats homemade maple syrup on pancakes! Walk through the process of making this sticky, sweet goodness from start to finish at this hands-on workshop for families with children ages 7 and older.

Practice drilling a tree and see how sap is boiled down. You’ll even get to enjoy some sweet treats! Tapping kits can be purchased in the Friends of Wehr store for an additional fee.

Registration is required at least two days before the program

For the sixth year, hardy northerners will cure their cabin fever at the Urban Candlelight Hike in Three Bridges Park. The Hank Aaron State Trail will be lit with hundreds of candles, campfires, and camaraderie right in the heart of Milwaukee.

This event takes place with or without snow. The Trails are free to hike, or grab a Fun Pass for lots of extra goodies!

Dance away the winter blues with live music and a video show provided by DJ lukewarm, complete with lights, lasers, bubbles, and more!

Costumes are encouraged; get into character and snap a selfie in front of the superhero-style backdrop. Miss Kara Penrose will be doing free glitter tattoo art, and Sugar Spun will be making fresh, all-natural cotton candy for purchase.
