European Village Alive! Milwaukee Public Museum Wisconsin

The Rock and Roll Playhouse, a family concert series hosted at historic music venues across the country, allows kids to “move, play and sing while listening to works from the classic-rock canon” (NY Times).

Performing songs created by Grateful Dead and other iconic musicians in rock history, The Rock and Roll Playhouse band offers its core audience of families with children age 10 and under games, movement, stories and an opportunity to rock out. There will even be a New Year’s Eve ball drop at noon!

It’s the season of giving, and the Zoo is offering a week of free daytime admission to thank guests for their support. Visit the Zoo during “Frosty Free Week” to enjoy animals and nature.

All guests receive free daytime admission December 26-30. Regular parking, concession, and attraction rates apply. Regular admission rates apply to the Zoo’s Wild Lights night event.

Recharge your flux capacitor … Fans old and new will experience the thrill of Back to the Future like never before – on a big hi-def screen with a full symphony orchestra performing Alan Silvestri’s dazzling musical score live and in sync with the movie.

Audiences will also be in for an exclusive treat: approximately 20 minutes of brand-new music added by award-winning composer Silvestri to the film’s score, especially for these unique live orchestra presentations.

Soar into the New Year at the Cool Fool Kite Festival, hosted by Gift of Wings. This family-friendly event takes place every New Year’s Day at Veterans Park along Milwaukee’s downtown lakefront. Bring your own kite or purchase one from Gift of Wings, the store onsite.

This free event will also feature giant, colorful kites in the air, free kite flying lessons, and ice sculpting by the Quiet Ice Carvers. There will also be free hot chocolate, coffee and snacks, while supplies last, and cookout food available for purchase.
