Kid-friendly summer adventures are everywhere you turn in the Milwaukee area! Here are our top picks for the weekend:

Mini Fest Milwaukee Wisconsin art workshop

Looking to get creative this weekend? Head to Zócalo Food Truck Park for an art making party! Learn, make, and create together in hands-on workshops for all ages and genders. A few of the projects are free to complete!

This non-profit event brings art education to all youth at a fraction of the cost. It features Mini-Workshops taught by local artists in all different mediums. There will also be small business vendors, live music and entertainment, local food trucks, and lots of giveaways.

Admission: Ages 13 and Up $8; Children Ages 3-12 $1; Children Under 3 FREE

This special event will feature a live performance by the beloved folk duo Fox & Branch on Margie’s Stage (11 a.m.-Noon). Other family-friendly activities will include a scavenger hunt, a potting activity, coloring, cookies, nature education, a lemonade stand and more. All proceeds will directly support the maintenance of Margie’s Garden.

In case of rain, the event will be held inside!

Edelweiss Cruises has teamed up with Friend Like Me to offer family-friendly themed character cruises. Each month features a new theme with different characters on board, and this month’s theme is “Galactic Heroes & Villains!”

Be sure to arrive 45 minutes early to have your picture taken with the characters! A keepsake photo will be provided on board. Included in your cruise is a hot dog lunch with chips, and Kool-Aid for all, with a cash bar available on board for the adults.

This festival truly celebrates the joys of flying, featuring an eclectic mix of hot air balloons, live music, delicious food and drinks, and local vendors.

Chat with balloon pilots and ask questions, enjoy tethered balloon rides, and end the night with everyone’s favorite – the balloon night glow (starting at dusk). The event also features a kids zone, DJ, craft fair alley, drone races, helicopter rides, bounce houses and more!

One of the most popular Wilson Center summertime traditions, Starry Nights outdoor concerts are great Friday night fun for audiences of all ages. There’s a Kids’ Zone with toys and games, plus food trucks and a full bar outside. The music starts at 6:30 p.m.
