Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 14th and there are some great deals and specials around town just for moms.

Plus, we’ve rounded up some great brunch options.

Here are our favorite ideas for celebrating mom this weekend:

1. Free admission for moms at the Milwaukee Public Museum.

The Milwaukee Public Museum offers one free adult admission on Mother’s Day.

This is your last chance to see “Survival of the Slowest“, an interactive exhibit with live animals like sloths, bearded dragons, and more

To reserve your one free adult admission, call 414-278-2728.

2. Free admission for moms at the Milwaukee County Zoo.

Say hello to all of the animals at the Milwaukee County Zoo, especially the moms!

All mothers receive free admission on Sunday, May 14th. Parking and attraction fees remain in effect.

Take time to visit some of the Zoo’s animal moms including prehensile-tailed porcupine, Quinn, giraffes Ziggy and Marlee, and lioness Patty Sharptooth.

You can also visit the African lioness Patty Sharptooth, and her two offspring Eloise and Amira.

3. Free “Mom-osa” or bier at Lowlands Group Restaurants

Lowlands Group is celebrating moms Saturday, May 13 and Sunday, May 14 with Brunch Specials at all Lowlands restaurants and one free Mimosa or Lowlands Brewing Collaborative Bier. Patios are open and ready for celebrations.

Lowlands Group restaurants include Cafe Hollander, Cafe Benelux, and Centraal Grand Cafe in Bay View.

Reservations can be made online at each location website, through Yelp or by calling the restaurant directly. Reservations fill up quickly and vary by location.

4. Visit Boerner Botanical Gardens & Margie’s Children’s Garden

Boerner Botanical Gardens opened for the season on May 1, and its formal gardens feature a rose garden and a peony garden, as well as variety of annuals and perennials. Plus, there’s a fragrant herb garden, a daylily path, and a serene rock garden with trickling streams and waterfalls.

Rest in the shade or have a snack inside the elegant gazebo, and don’t miss the regal shrub mall, historic garden house, and expansive arboretum. Kids will also love the stroller-friendly bog garden walk in the northeast corner of the property.

If you’re a resident of Milwaukee County, you’ll save $1 per ticket.

If the weather doesn’t cooperate, you can stop and smell the flowers inside The Domes. At the newest floral show called “Metamorphosis“, witness the white shell of winter transform into the soft caterpillar greens of spring. With the “Changing Color” daffodils, the garden morphs into a vivid tapestry of hyacinths, pansies and hydrangeas of every color.

Located on the Grohmann Museum on the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) campus, this rooftop garden features a dozen large, bronze statues of men at work – toiling in the field and foundry, heaving hammers or pinching molten metal with hot tongs.

The Grohmann Museum is home to the world’s most comprehensive art collection dedicated to the evolution of human work. Admission is $5 for adults and free for children under 12.
