Build a beach and then let your oil rig spew oil! Can you clean up the mess? Learn about how an oil spill harms plants, animals and your beach and why it is so hard to clean up. This program is designed grades 2-4/

Kid-friendly activities (inside and outside) focus on how your actions matter and what you can do to keep our planet safe and clean. The hands-on Recycling Exhibit area will allow visitors to experience the complete route recyclable materials can take in our community, and how you can help close the loop on this process. Starting at 11 a.m.. the Horwitz-DeRemer Planetarium will have multiple showings of “Our Violent Planet,” a full dome show that features some of the most catastrophic natural events our world will ever occur.

The Zoological Society of Milwaukee will serve as site captain as participants clean up on the Hank Aaron State Trail near Highway 100 – just outside the Zoo. Milwaukee Riverkeeper will provide bags, gloves, supplies, and free T-shirts! Preregistration is required.

Join Rock the Green for the 13th Annual Earth Day Celebration! Performing artists include Urban Empress & The Urbanites, Sarah Fierek & The Wildflowers, and Jonah Danae. Parking is free, and pets are allowed outside on museum grounds.
