Back this year and better than ever, Big Truck Day returns to Red Arrow Park Saturday, May 18th. 2024 from 11:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m. in Red Arrow Park.
This free event features over a dozen big rigs from the Department of Public Works, Milwaukee Fire Department, and Milwaukee Police Department and offers children a unique opportunity to explore the various trucks and meet the people who operate the machinery.
The event is free and open to the public. It is ideal for children ages 2 – 10, with free activities for the entire family.
Overview
The park will host a variety of family-friendly activities, including free face painting, bubble playtime, a book sale from the Friends of the Milwaukee Public Library, truck-themed arts and crafts with Artists Working in Education, bubble and sandbox playtime, and free face painting.
There will also be a food truck park offering a variety of meals and snacks for families.
Plus, parking during the even will be just $3 at the 1000 N Water Street parking structure.
To provide a quality experience for all guests, a sensory-friendly hour will be offered from 1-2 p.m., at which time no horn or sirens will take place.
New This Year
New this year, kids will get the chance to meet and take photos with a beloved “Hero Pup.”
There will also be numerous giveaways during the event, including 250 construction hats, 250 pairs of sunglasses, and 250 mini foam construction cones.

Big Truck Day is supported by the Office of Mayor Cavalier Johnson, Department of Public Works, Milwaukee Fire Department, Milwaukee Police Department, Friends of the Milwaukee Public Library, Monroe Truck Equipment, Truck Country, Brooks Tractor, Milwaukee County Parks, and Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21.
