For the past few years, my family has made Creekside Valley Farm in Mequon a go-to fall destination.
It’s the perfect size for families—plenty of fun things to do, but not so big that it feels overwhelming. Here’s a look at what makes it such a special place for a fall day out.
Pick-Your-Own Pumpkin Patch
One of the highlights of Creekside Valley Farm is the pumpkin patch. Whether you’re looking for the classic orange pumpkin or something unique like white, multicolored, or bumpy pumpkins, you’ll find plenty of options.
You can walk out to the patch to pick your own or choose from a variety of pre-picked pumpkins waiting for you near the entrance.
Beyond pumpkins, they also offer farm-grown squash, apples, fresh honey, apple cider, and cute fall decor items for sale around the barn.
Golden Corn Maze with Trivia
The farm’s corn maze is a family favorite. It’s the perfect size—not too big, not too small—and it adds a fun twist with trivia questions scattered throughout. Answer correctly, and you’ll stay on track. Get it wrong, and you might find yourself at a dead end.
The challenge of solving the trivia makes it engaging for all ages, and it’s always satisfying to find your way out!
Kid’s Area with Pedal Carts
For the little ones, there’s a small but fun kid’s area with pedal tractors, swings, and farm toys. It’s a simple setup, but it keeps the younger kids entertained for a good chunk of time. Visitors love that these activities are free of charge, which makes the experience feel even more family-friendly.
There are also yard games like corn hole spread throughout the grounds to keep everyone entertained.
Friendly Farm Animals
Creekside Valley Farm is also home to a variety of friendly farm animals. You can spend time petting and observing pygmy goats, a spunky donkey, curious chickens, miniature ponies, peacocks, turkeys, and even growing beef cattle.
Kids love meeting the animals, and there’s always a new furry or feathered friend to discover.
Snack Shack & Weekend Events
Feeling hungry after exploring? Creekside Valley Farm has a Snack Shack offering treats like flavored popcorn, cotton candy, Sprecher sodas, cider, and more.
On weekends, they often bring in local food trucks and live music, making it the perfect spot to sit back, relax, and enjoy the fall atmosphere.
A Cozy, Family-Friendly Atmosphere
What sets Creekside Valley Farm apart is its warm, welcoming vibe. The owners, Scott and Tracy Ernst, are proud to carry on their family tradition of farming and opening their land to the public.
The farm feels like a little slice of country in the heart of Mequon, offering simple, good-hearted fun without the pressure of paying for every little thing.
