American Family Field: 10 Tips For Visiting With Kids (2024)

There’s no denying it. Milwaukee is a world class sports city.

At American Family Field (1 Brewers Way, Milwaukee, WI 53214), your whole family can root for a Brewers win, sing along to “Take Me Out To The Ball Game”, catch a glimpse of the famous racing sausages, and so much more.

There’s a new Sunday Funday Bundle for families, a 414 Value Meal that’s perfect for kids, and a pitch timer that makes games significantly shorter.

Here are some tips for your next visit to American Family Field with kids.

1. Arrive early to watch batting practice.

You’ll avoid the crowds, you’ll get a chance to see the vast, empty stadium during batting practice, and you’ll give your kids a chance to run around freely before the game.

You can also take advantage of Bernie’s Slide Experience for an extra cost. Available before select Brewers home games, the Bernie’s Slide Experience includes up to five rides down Bernie’s Slide and amazing photo opportunities.

2. Go on Sunday Fun-Day (and run the bases!)

The new Sunday Fun-Day Bundle includes four Terrace Outfield tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas, and a general parking pass for just $62.

Before the game, the kids are invited to the seats by the warning track to receive an autograph from a Brewers player, alumni and or other Brewers personality for Autograph Sundays from 11:50 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. every Sunday home game from April through August. Autographs are limited to one per child and full-sized bats are not allowed.

After the game, kids ages 14 and under can run the bases! The postgame Kids Run the Bases line begins along the first-base line on the Field Level.

3. 414 Value Menu

The Brewers rolled out the 414 Menu, a value menu available at 12 concession stands spanning each level of ballpark.

The 414 Menu offers four items a la carte, for just $4 each – a junior hot dog, junior nachos, Cracker Jack and 16 oz. soda. The value pricing offers more flexibility for fans at every home game.

Sunday Fun-Day Meals can be redeemed at any of these stands.

4. Sit in a designated Family Section.

American Family Field offers special alcohol-free family sections in Sections 217, 309, and 417 to avoid sitting near the rambunctious people that probably resemble your former self. Your kids will have fun meeting other mini-Brewers fans, and you won’t feel as terrible when your toddler throws a nacho at the person in front of them. The view’s not bad either!

Other good seats for kids & families are Sections 408, 409, 410, & 411, because they are right above the kids attractions on the lower level and they are shaded when the roof is open. (The low prices don’t hurt, either.)

5. Burn off energy at the playgrounds.

The Aurora Children’s Health Kids Zone is located on the Terrace Level behind section 406. It’s open every home game when the gates open through the 8th inning and is meant for kids ages ten and under, especially toddlers. This interactive play area offers a child-size clubhouse, life-size baseball cards, photo opportunities, and more.

You can also visit the UScellular Power Playground located on the field level in the right field corner. Slide down a smaller version of the Bernie Brewer slide, and try your hand in the batting and pitching cages.

There’s also a playground outside, adjacent to Helfaer Field.

For earlier access to the playgrounds inside the stadium, you can join the  Kids Crew.  A membership costs $35 and comes with Brewer gear, free tickets and access to exclusive events, including early access into the ballpark on select games.

6. Nurse or pump in peace.

Nursing moms can breastfeed anywhere where they are authorized to be present, but if you’re looking for somewhere private to nurse, you can go to the American Family Field Mom & Baby Nursing Suite presented by Aurora Health Care® located next to the Brewers Guest Relations kiosk on the Field Level near Section 116 (inside the First Aid Room).

A baby changing table is also available. Mothers may also nurse their children in the Mamava Suite presented by Aurora Health Care®, located near the Brewers Guest Relations kiosk on the Terrace Level behind Section 419.

7. Experience the “Selig Experience”.

Be sure to stop by the Selig Experience on any game day. This state-of-the-art attraction is totally free on game days, located in the Loge Level in the left field corner.

You’ll enjoy an immersive, multimedia presentation that tells the story of former Brewers Owner Bud Selig and his quest to save and promote Major League Baseball in Milwaukee. (Spoiler alert: At the end, you’ll have a very authentic-feeling 3D encounter with Mr. Selig himself.)

8. Get a First Game Certificate or baseball cards.

First-time guests to American Family Field can receive a complimentary First Game Certificate
at a Brewers Guest Relations kiosk (located on the Field Level near Section 116, the Loge Level
behind Section 221, the Club Level Concierge Desk behind Section 333, and on the Terrace
Level behind Section 419). Fans are also able to receive a free reward for a specified menu
item from Chick-fil-A (while supplies last).

9. Stroll down autograph alley.

Your kids will love the baseballs signed by legends and fans alike, displayed artistically in glass cases. You’ll find autograph alley on the field level in the third base corner of the stadium.

10. Be a part of Hank Aaron history.

Did you know you can find the landing spot of Hank Aaron’s 755th and final home run ball? It’s located in the Brewers 1 Parking Lot, and there’s a plaque to commemorate it. It happened in Milwaukee on July 20, 1976. Go on a scavenger hunt to find it!

-Check their website for frequent ticket specials and giveaways. Some specials include: ‘Kids and Seniors Day” where kids under 14 and seniors over 60 save 50% on tickets on weekday afternoon games; Student Nights where college and high school students can purchase discounted tickets and WI First Fridays where all Wisconsin residents can save 50% on tickets.

-This year’s Gate Giveways include a Giannis Antetokounmpo Brewers Basketball Jersey on April 6 and a City Connect Tumbler on April 27.

-On one very special night in the summer, you can experience the Field of Sweet Dreams, presented by Fleet Farm. Camp out in American Family Field under the stars, play catch on the field, watch a Brewers away game on the scoreboard, meet and greet the Brewers Mascots, get private tours of American Family Field, as well as great ballpark snacks, dinner provided by Chick-fil-A Southeast Wisconsin, and breakfast. Strollers:

Strollers: Strollers are permitted on all concourse areas at American Family Field. Only strollers
that can be folded and placed under a stadium seat are permitted in the seating areas of
American Family Field. The Milwaukee Brewers are not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged strollers. Strollers may be checked at a Brewers Guest Relations kiosk (located on the Field
Level near Section 116, Loge Level behind Section 221, and Terrace Level behind Section 419).

Children 2 & Under: Children two (2) years of age and under do not need a ticket to enter the park, provided they are seated on a parent or guardian’s lap.

Sensory Needs: American Family Field has partnered with KultureCity to accommodate guests with sensory needs. Sensory bags, equipped with noise canceling headphones, fidget tools, verbal cue cards, and weighted lap pads will be available at any Brewers Guest Relations kiosk (located on the Field Level near Section 116, the Loge Level behind Section 221, and on the Terrace Level behind Section 419) for guests who may feel overwhelmed by the environment. In addition, a Quiet Area is available for guests who are experiencing sensory overload, offering a sensory bubble wall that provides calm lighting and sounds. Parking: Parking:  Fans will see a new and improved parking process at American Family Field. Fans are strongly encouraged to pre-pay for parking to secure a parking spot at a lower cost than day-of parking rates. Regardless of whether fans purchase parking in advance or purchase the day of the game, fans will need to scan the QR code upon arrival. That is the most important step to activate parking. For those without smart phone capabilities there are four kiosks around the stadium that will take cash or credit card. Parking lots will open three hours in advance of the game.
