‘Black Cat Alley’ Hosts Halloween Party for Families (2022)

Black Cat Alley is hosting Halloween on Milwaukee’s East Side on Saturday, October 29th with a series of activities planned in, and around, the alley.

Beginning at 9 AM, local East Side businesses are celebrating Halloween with a series of family friendly fun including build-your-own scarecrows, children’s costume contest at Crossroads Collective Food Hall, a Halloween craft event at the Milwaukee Public Library – East Branch and a dog costume contest alongside Woof Bowl – Milwaukee’s Food Truck for dogs!

Beginning at 7 PM, Black Cat Alley converts to a free Halloween Throwback Dance Party featuring DJ Fuzzy Logic and TJK, an outdoor alley bar, tarot card readings and an adult costume contest.

Following the dance party, participants can partake in a self-guided East Side Bar Crawl or catch a showing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show at Oriental Theatre.

Black Cat Alley is an open-air art gallery located in an East Side alley of Milwaukee. The unique street art includes murals from artists across the country. Black Cat Alley hosted an all-day DJ and dancing party during the Summer Solstice Music Festival.

The East Side’s Executive Director, David Smulyan, commented on the event saying, “Black Cat Alley is such a cool space. Festival goers had such a fun time during Summer Soulstice and we wanted to recreate the atmosphere. We are excited to host this Halloween event that has activities for all ages. Going into 2023 we are planning to activate the Alley on a regular basis, for all sorts of musical and art events as well as a variety of special occasion events.”
